TUESDAY'S TIPS (09/28/15)
“Our services serves us as well as others. That which uses us strengthens us. Over time, fixing and helping are draining, depleting. Over time we burn out. Service is renewing. When we serve, our work itself will sustain us.”
Rachel Naomi Remen, In the Service of Life.
GET ENGAGED AT MAC
Navigating communities through service is an impactful way to grow as an individual and a community member. As you grow into the Macalester, Mac-Groveland, Twin Cities, and larger communities around you, consider how you interact, and how you could serve them. Information is often a vital beginning for service and engagement.
At Macalester, if you are interested in joining student organizations, Macalester College Student Government (MCSG), you should attend organization meetings to get a feel for them, speak to org leaders, and ask your friends in what orgs they engage. If you go to the second floor of the Campus Center, you can find org guides with lists of all the student orgs you could join. Or you could use OrgSync (use your Macalester log in information): https://orgsync.com/login/macalester-college/. Feel free to contact your MCSG Class Representatives for help finding resources: http://www.macalester.edu/mcsg/members/.
