Family Fest 2015

FUN THINGS TO DO DURING FAMILY FEST
(even if your family can’t come!).

Family Fest is October 9th & 10th and is a great opportunity to explore and share campus and the Twin Cities with your family. Even if your family isn’t able to visit, there are fun opportunities that are open for all students to attend. Here are some suggestions:
CHECK OUT THE INTERNATIONAL ROUNDTABLE
International roundtable begins Wednesday, October 7th with the theme Education in a Globalized World: Equity, Diversity and Civic Participation. Check out the amazing speakers or attend one of the many student-led workshops happening Thursday through Saturday. Review the full international roundtable schedule to take advantage of this great opportunity.
TAKE A TOUR
Whether it’s the Friday sustainability tour to learn about campus sustainability initiatives, a Saturday tour to learn about the neighborhood on the Summit Avenue walking tour or the vibrant Lake Street Bus tour in Minneapolis, get out and about on this beautiful weekend!
GET PHYSICAL
Wake up on Saturday to morning yoga or participate in the 4k wellness run/walk. You can also support your peers who are getting physical at a Macalester Football game, or the soccer team close by at the University St. Thomas, or women’s volleyball at Hamline University.
DISCOVER THE ARTS
Macalester music ensembles and choirs are performing on Friday and Saturday night, the Acappella Choir groups are performing Saturday afternoon, and Macalester’s own improvisational comedy troupe Fresh Concepts is opening for a Minneapolis HUGE theatre group on Saturday night.  If you want to get off campus the St. Paul Art Crawl is happening is in lowertown all weekend.
There are many great things happening this weekend. Review the family fest website to see a full schedule of family fest events, including twin cities events—there is something for everyone!
